Since 1920, the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce has been helping local businesses grow and prosper. Today, the Chamber continues to be the face of the business community throughout Sumter County, Georgia. Over the years, the Chamber has been a progressive business organization, working to build quality of life for its citizens, assisting its businesses in the county to grow and prosper, and partnering with the Sumter County Development Authority to bring jobs to the region.

About our President:
Amanda “Mandy” Reeves Young, born and raised in Americus, daughter of Sparky and Allene Reeves, is the President of Georgia Community Works, LLC and currently serves as President/CEO of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce. In these dual leadership roles, she advances community and economic development initiatives, strengthens public-private partnerships, and supports business growth across the region. With more than two decades of executive experience, Mandy has served in leadership positions spanning local government, healthcare, nonprofit, and private sectors.
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia, Mandy began her career as Downtown Development Director/Main Street Manager for the City of Americus and later served as Community & Economic Development Director. She went on to lead physician relations and recovery efforts at Sumter Regional Hospital before spending over a decade as
Acquisitions Manager for JES Holdings’ Affordable Equity Partners division.
One month following the passing of Mandy’s beloved father, Sparky Reeves, in August of 2023, Mandy made the decision to begin her own company, Georgia Community Works. The primary objective of her company…”to bring SPARK to every community”. Partnering with municipalities, development authorities, and private developers to design and implement revitalization plans, housing strategies, and transformative community initiatives is among her unique skill set. She is also recognized as a longtime leader with the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH), where she serves on the state Planning Committee Board, GICH Alumni Board Chairman, and has served as the Chairman of the Americus- Sumter County GICH Team since first accepted into the state housing program in 2010. Mandy also currently serves on the Americus-Sumter Land Bank Authority Board.
Mandy is a Leadership Georgia graduate, active civic volunteer, and former board director for numerous local and statewide organizations. She has been widely recognized for her expertise in community transformation, strategic planning, housing development, organizational leadership, and community and economic development growth and enhancement. Mandy is married to Ryan Young, who is from Ocilla, Georgia. They have been married for 22 years and have two daughters, a junior in college and a junior in high school.
